Keep the Passion, Embrace the Mountains and Seas

In August, the heat still burns. To dispel the oppressive mood, we decided to go to the seaside to listen to the waves and to the mountains to feel the wind.

Day 1 / Shenzhen – Nan’ao

On the first afternoon, we hiked along Haibei Bay in Nan’ao. The sound of the waves roared past our ears, and we swam like fish through a sea of people. At that moment, we also wished to have the memory of a fish, forgetting the pressures and complexities of life and work, and diving into the deep sea to seek another kind of splendor. In the evening, we played games and enjoyed a barbecue on the rooftop of our guesthouse while the sea breeze blew. The sound of the waves became a backdrop, and when we finally fell silent, the waves rose again.

Day 2 / Shenzhen’s Second Highest Peak – Qiniang Mountain

On the second day, we arrived at Qiniang Mountain in Nan’ao. Located at the southern tip of the Dapeng Peninsula, it is surrounded by the sea on three sides. With a main peak elevation of 867.4 meters, it is Shenzhen’s second highest mountain. Although it was a sunny day, when we reached the mountainside, clouds and mist surged in, instantly dimming the sky, only to dissipate soon after.

This cycle repeated itself, with the peaks appearing and disappearing in a mysterious dance, and the surrounding scenery sometimes shrouded in fog. Although the climb was arduous, all of us reached the summit, where we wandered through an endless sea of clouds, feeling the ever-changing scenery.

Event Summary

YONG:
Climbing a mountain tests one’s willpower, and descending tests one’s composure. I never thought I would complete the climb of Shenzhen’s second highest peak, 800 meters above sea level. With those ahead encouraging me and those behind chasing me, I moved forward step by step. Every milestone was a challenge. Life is like this—march forward, keep climbing, break through your limits, and meet at the summit.

Zeno:
It had been a long time since I last climbed a mountain, and I was afraid I wouldn’t make it to the top. One sentence left a deep impression on me: “A person can walk fast, but a group can walk far.” Together, we encouraged each other, and everyone reached the summit safely. I love this sense of accomplishment and hope that in the days to come we will have more such activities to experience the power of teamwork—the power of 1+1 being greater than 2.

This trip was like our daily design work. We can always survive the dark days of design life, leap into the vast sea, climb to towering peaks, explore the true essence of design, and feel the achievements and joy it brings time and time again.
